Big November Update
It’s been a little while since my last update so I thought I should bring everyone up to speed on what has been going on in the studio and beyond. In October, I had to look for a new place to live and that put my studio work on hold until about a week ago. I can happily report that I found a fantastic room in an amazing house in a beautiful neighborhood in Northeast Portland. The room has enough space for all my books and even my drawing table! Most of my art supplies and my table had been in storage since 2018 so I am happy to, once again, be able to draw at a drafting table and not with a lap board at the kitchen table.
I am currently working on a story for the other comic that I contribute to: G.H.O.S.T Agents!. This is the third story that I have illustrated for writer and creator of G.H.O.S.T. Agents, Rocko Jerome. In the last year, we have successfully run four Kickstarters for GA and are now in the middle of our fifth Kickstarter campaign for G.H.O.S.T. Agents: Apocalyptico. This book collects the first three issues of GA with added material and a new story written by Rocko and illustrated by comics underground legend, Ken Landgraf! If this is the first time you have heard of G.H.O.S.T. Agents, or are a long time fan, then I encourage you to check out our Kickstarter here:
GHOST Agents: Apocalyptico Kickstarter
“Across time and space, the clandestine organization called G.H.O.S.T. (Global Hierarchy Of Secret Tactics) sends its agents to combat threats with bad intentions - lycanthropic drug addicts, demons from the netherworld tearing into the space/time continuum, and the nihilistic, fashion obsessed terrorists collectively known as APOCALYPTICO.”
There are so many great artists contributing to this book. Check it out!
As part of the promotion for our ongoing G.H.O.S.T. Agents books, I was interviewed by Troy-Jeffery Allen of Previews World. In the interview, I talk about my start in comics and how I teamed up with Rocko and the crew for G.H.O.S.T. Agents plus other amusing anecdotes. Check it out here:
“What about Feral Star?” I am currently working on a script for issue #1 of Feral Star. At this stage, it is looking like it’s going to be over 40 pages! I don’t have a completion date set but hope to have it completed next year in time for convention season in the fall. That is a pretty ambitious timeline for me.
That is all I’ve got for now. I hope everyone is gearing up for a festive holiday season.
Cheers,
John
