I hope you all are enjoying a bountiful and relaxing holiday weekend. I have lots to be thankful for and, after taking a bit of a break from posting here, I am happy to share a few of these things with you. I’ve been really busy over the last few weeks promoting Feral Star #1, attending conventions, and being interviewed on a couple YouTube channels. But first, the big news!
Feral Star #1 is currently in the PreviewsWorld catalog for December! That means comic shops around the country can pre-order my comic which will then be distributed by Diamond Distribution in February 2025. Here is the actual listing if you would like to check it out: PreviewsWorld If you would like to order a copy of Feral Star #1, talk to your local comic shop. You can give them the code: DEC241464 or just tell them to search the offerings from Cosmic Lion Productions. The order deadline is December 18th! The hope is that if one person expresses an interest in my book to a local shop they will order a few copies for the shelves. I am so grateful to Cosmic Lion Productions and Eli Schwab (my publisher) for orchestrating all of this. Indie books are making a big come back!
Also, in an effort to make sure that comic shops are aware of my book, I sent out about 425 postcards.
This process took a bit longer than I anticipated so hopefully it will pay off. I have found that my reach on social media isn’t as effective as it used to be as the algorithms have changed so I am reverting back to the “old school” methods of spreading the word about Feral Star. Another way that I have been doing that has been to hit the convention circuit. I tabled at two conventions in November, Short Run Comix Festival and Grit City Comic Show . I had such a great time meeting comic fans and fellow creators at both shows. The energy and enthusiasm for comics, especially indie comics, was a refreshing confirmation that I am in the right place to thrive.

What else have I been up to? I talked with a couple other comic creators on their YouTube channels about making comics. The first was with Kurt and Jake (creators of Turbo Pit Fighter) on their Indie Creator Exchange show. Check it Out!
The other conversation I had was with my good buddy and comic creator Chris Anderson on his YouTube channel. We did a complete deep dive of issues #0 and #1 so, spoiler warning. Check It Out!
Please give these guys likes and follows if you are a fan of comic creator commentary or just a general fan of comics.
I would like to give thanks to all of my supporters here. Knowing that my creations have an audience is what keeps me at the drawing board. I will have more updates soon about future conventions (three confirmed for 2025), commission opportunities, and the next Feral Star book!
Cheers!
John
